New York alt-rock/post-hardcore band Hold Fast Hope has a new EP out titled Traitors, and you just have to hear it! Continue reading to learn all about Hold Fast Hope.

Can you share your role in the band and a bit about you?
Hey! My name is Dan LeBrun, I play lead guitar & some backup vocals in Hold Fast Hope. I also run the record label that we are a part of, Downport Records. DJ (Vocals/Guitar) and I started this band together after our previous band fell apart due to people moving & life events.

You released your new EP Traitors on March 30th, which is so exciting. How has your outlook on music and your career in it changed since the release?
We’ve definitely been even more motivated since the release of Traitors! We’ve gotten a great response so far and it’s pushing us to work even harder on the band for sure. It’s definitely one of the biggest projects I’ve been a part of musically, it’s exciting to be a part of it.

There are four songs on the EP, and that includes “Traitors Pt. 1” and “Traitors Pt. 2.” Can you explain your reasoning for splitting the tracks and the meaning behind them in general?
Well Traitors Pt. 2 was written one day by us just jamming after we finishing practicing Pt. 1. DJ came up with the guitar riff in the beginning and we just felt like it completed the song in a way, almost like a secondary (extended) outro. They just flowed naturally into each other to finish the EP so we just felt it right to put them together. In more or less words, Traitors tells the story of the different relationships we weave in life, from the benign to the toxic and how we find ourselves stuck in the middle of this storm, just trying to find our way to shore.

What are you working on now that Traitors is out?
As of now we are working on filming a music video for our single “Fade” which should be coming out soon this summer. We have about 5 new tracks we are ready to take into the studio for a Fall release, so keep your eyes peeled for that as well!

Are collaborations something you are a fan of? If you could collaborate on a future song with anyone in the industry, who would it be and why?
We’re definitely open to collaborating with other artists, we’ve put some thought into having some other local musicians & labelmates featured on our music but nothing has panned out as of yet! I think collectively we’d all love to work with Dustin Kensrue of Thrice if we could work with anyone in the industry!

Live shows – do you have any coming up? If so, where can readers catch you playing at?
We’ll be a part of Sticks Fest at The Basement in New Jersey the weekend of July 14-15. We’ll be putting together a lengthier tour for the Fall!
